Biography

Illustrious C. Winston Douglas, 33°, I.G.H., grew up near Seattle, Washington and was a member of Richmond Highlands Chapter, Order of DeMolay; where he served as Master Councilor before joining the Marine Corps. While stationed in Norfolk, Virginia he was raised in Charles T. Morton Lodge No. 232 in 1987, serving as Worshipful Master in 1996. He later affiliated with Ocean View Lodge No. 335, served as Lodge Educational Officer and Lodge Instructor of Work, and was elected Worshipful Master in 2012. He joined Virginia Research Lodge No. 1777 in 1994 and has written and presented more than twenty research papers to Masonic audiences. Throughout his career, Brother Douglas has worked in Information Technology and is currently a Senior Cloud Developer. He likes to apply the skills he has learned in his career to manage websites and social media for his Masonic organizations. He is active in several Masonic research bodies, as well as Royal Arch, Commandery, and Scottish Rite; where he was coroneted a 33rd Degree, Inspector General Honorary in 2023. Brother Douglas has done extensive work to promote Masonic Education by digitizing over 300 papers from various research bodies and made them freely available through email, websites, and social media. He has hosted nearly a hundred "Unstated Meetings" online to provide Masonic authors with a worldwide audience. He was elected Worshipful Master of Virginia Research Lodge in 2025 and 2026. He is married to the former Carri Michelle Stephens of Chesapeake and they live in Virginia Beach with their son, Isaac; their dog, General Grievous; and their pig, Ham Solo.
