Notes: One of the nine charter Lodges of the Grand Lodge of Virginia in 1788. Confirmed Chartered 09/09/1757. 1819 Proceedings: Whereas, by a calamitous fire, which happened in the town of Blandford, during the present year, the charter and furniture of the Blandford Lodge, No. 3, were totally destroyed, and the said Lodge No. 3, having continued their operations since that time, by an authority to that effect, from under the hand of the Grand Master, on motion, Resolved, That a copy of their charter be issued, naming John D. Townes, Master; William Shannon, Senior Warden; and John E. Lemoine, Junior Warden, free of expense. 1821 Proceedings: Whereas, the Masons’ Hall belonging to Blandford Lodge, No. 3, was consumed by fire in March, 1818, and with it the charter and other papers belonging to the Lodge; therefore, Resolved, That a charter be issued to the said Lodge, appointing the Worshipful John Bragg, Master; John D. Townes, Senior Warden; and William Pannill, Junior Warden; and that the charter be issued during the present Grand Annual Communication, free of any expense.
