May 1788 Proceedings: A dispensation granted this day, the 27th of May, 1788, to Francis Muir, George Pegram, Joel Hardaway and William Hardaway and others, to hold a regular Lodge of Free Masons in the upper end of the county of Dinwiddie, by the name, title, and designation of the Dinwiddie Union Lodge, No. 23, which dispensation is to continue in force till the 28th day of October next ensuing and no longer.
November 1788 Proceedings: Ordered, That a charter do issue to the Dinwiddie Union Lodge, to bear date the 27th day of May last.
