1797 Proceedings: By the Worshipful Grand Master’s order a Dispensation has this day issued to Charles Deneale, Master; John
Lawson, Senior Warden; and Charles S. O’Neale, Junior Warden, to hold a regular Lodge in the town of Dumfries, in the county of
Prince William; which Dispensation has power and authority until the next Grand Annual Communication and no longer.
Resolved as their opinion, That a Charter do issue, appointing Brothers George Deneale, Master; John Lawson, Senior Warden,
and John Williams, Junior Warden, to hold a Regular Lodge in the town of Dumfries, in the county of Prince William, by the title
and designation of the Dumfries Lodge, No. 50.
