In obedience to the order of the Grand Lodge, bearing date the 27th Nov’r, 1794, a Charter has this day issued to Phillip Rootes Thompson, Master; Birkit Davenport, Senior Warden, and Philip Lightfoot, Junior Warden, to establish a new and regular Lodge in the county of Culpeper, in the town of Fairfax, designated and known by the name of the Fairfax Lodge, No. 43; also, a certificate from the Most Worshipful Grand Master, impowering the Worshipful Brothers, Bud Haywood, John Ilackley and Nimrod Long, or any two of them, to install the said brethren in their different offices agreeably to ancient custom.
1848 Proceedings: Listed as suspended.
1855 Proceedings: Whereas, a Dispensation was issued by the Most Wor. Grand Master to authorize the revival and opening of the Lodge at Fairfax, in the county of Culpeper, by the name of Fairfax Lodge, No. 43, appointing Wor. Fayette Mauzey, Master; Philip C. Slaughter as Senior Warden, and Jesse L. Burrows as Junior Warden; and said Dispensation being returned, with the necessary documents, accompanying which is a petition signed by F. Mauzey, G. D. Gray and Philip C. Slaughter, praying this Grand Lodge to revive the old Fairfax Lodge, under the name, title and designation as set forth in the original Charter, and setting forth in said petition the reasons for such application; and it appearing to your Committee that said application is right and proper; therefore,
Resolved, That Fairfax Lodge, in the county of Culpeper, be revived under its original name, number, title and designation, and appointing the officers named.
1857 Proceedings: Whereas, the Charter, Text-Books, &c. of Fairfax Lodge, No. 143 (sic), have been accidentally lost by fire:
Resolved, That a duplicate Charter be issued to said Lodge by the Grand Secretary, and that the Grand Treasurer furnish said Lodge with three additional Text-Books.
1865 Proceedings: Resolved, That owing to the desolated condition of the country in which Prince George Lodge, No. 115, is located, and the entire destruction of their Lodge room, the dues of said Lodge for the years 1864 and 1865 be remitted, and that the dues of Fairfax Lodge, No. 43, because of their inability to hold meetings since the 1st of May, 1861, their property, charter and jewels having been destroyed, be remitted up to the present time.
