1801 Proceedings: Brother George W. B. Spooner, Master of the Lodge opened in Fredericksburg, during the recess of the Grand Lodge, by virtue of a dispensation, handed up a copy of the proceedings of the said Lodge, with other documents, and a petition for a charter.
Ordered, That the papers, with the petition accompanying them, be referred to the grand committee.
A Lodge having been opened in Fredericksburg, under the authority of a dispensation from the Most Worshipful William Austin, dated February 26th, 1801, by the designation of the Fredericksburg American Lodge, appointing W. B. Spooner, Master;
Richard Johnston, Senior Warden; and Robert Hening, Junior Warden; and the said dispensation having been returned, with a
regular copy of the proceedings had under it, and a petition for a charter:
Resolved, That a charter do issue for the permanent establishment of the said Lodge, by the distinctive title of the Fredericksburg American Lodge, No. 63, appointing the same brethren officers thereof that were named in the said dispensation.
