1822 Proceedings: A dispensation having been issued by the Grand Master, for the opening of a Lodge in the county of Nottoway, under date of September 23rd, 1822, appointing Austin Watkins, Master; Bartlett P. Todd, Senior Warden; and William Verser, Junior Warden; by the name of the Philanthropic Lodge; and the said dispensation being returned, with an application for a charter, on motion,
Resolved, That a charter do issue for the permanent establishment of said Lodge, in the county of Nottoway, aforesaid, by the
name of the Philanthropic Lodge, No. 127, appointing the same brethren officers thereof who are named in the said dispensation.
