1788 Proceedings: A dispensation granted this day, the 4th of August, A. L. 5788, to Baniel Lovell, Haynes Morgan, John Markham, Baniel Tomkins, Samuel Tomkins, Willliam Shelton, Frederick Shelton, Tavernor Shelton, Bay Shelton, Thomas Lankford, James George, and others, to hold a regular Lodge of Free Masons in the county of Pittsylvania, by the name, title, and designation of the Pittsylvania Lodge, No. 24, to continue in force till the 28th day of October next ensuing, and no longer.
1789 Proceedings: Ordered, That a Charter do issue to the Pittsylvania Lodge, No. 24, to be holden at Pittsylvania courthouse, or its vicinity, and to bear date the 4th day of August last past.
