Confirmed chartered 12/16/1807 as "Portsmouth Lodge of Friendship, No. 82". Dormant by 1813.
1807 Proceedings: A dispensation having been issued by the Most Worshipful Grand Master, bearing date March 4, 1807, for the opening of a Lodge in Portsmouth, in the county of Norfolk, by the name of the Lodge of-Friendship; appointing Stephen C. Graham, Master; John Godwin, Senior Warden; and William Wilkinson, Junior Warden; and the said dispensation being returned, with a petition for a charter,
Resolved, That a charter do issue for the permanent establishment of said Lodge, by the name of the Portsmouth Lodge of
Friendship, No. 82; appointing Stephen C. Graham, Master; John Thompson, Senior Warden; and Thomas Darden, Junior Warden.
1813 Proceedings: It being stated that after the late invasion of Hampton, by the British troops, it was found that the charter, bible, jewels, &c., of St. Taminy’s Lodge, No. 5, were stolen and carried away; that the jewels had been borrowed from the now dormant Lodge, No. 82, to be returned when the Grand Lodge should require; that the said Lodge, No. 5, had suspended its operations until the pleasure of the Grand Lodge should be known, on motion,
Resolved unanimously, That a renewal of the charter of said Lodge, No. 5, be issued free of expense, in order that said Lodge
may recommence and continue its labours.
