1822 Proceedings: A dispensation having been issued by the Grand Master, dated April 29th, 1822, to authorize the opening of a Lodge, at the Courthouse of Richmond county, by the name of the Richmond County St. John’s Lodge, in which Benjamin D. Rust was appointed Master ; Augustine Neale, Senior Warden; and William L. Lee, Junior Warden; and the said dispensation being returned, with an application for a charter, on motion,
Resolved, That a charter do issue for the permanent establishment of said Lodge, at the Courthouse of Richmond county aforesaid, by the name of Richmond County Saint John’s Lodge, No. 126. appointing Benjamin D. Rust, Master; Augustine Neale, Senior Warden; and William Y. Steerman, Junior Warden.
Resolved, That the jewels and furniture-belonging to Westmoreland Hiram Lodge, No. 59, now dormant, be loaned to the Richmond County Saint John’s Lodge, No. 126; and that Brother Benjamin D. Bust be and he is hereby authorized to demand from and receive of any person who may have possession of any of the said jewels or furniture, all the said articles; upon the possession of which, the said Brother Rust is to forward a receipt to the Grand Secretary.
