Dupe?
One of the nine charter Lodges of the Grand Lodge of Virginia in 1788.
Confirmed chartered 02/26/1759.
In the 1786 Proceedings, identified as "Hampton St. Tamminys No. 5".
1796 Proceedings: Respecting the delinquent Lodges—whereas sundry resolutions have been successively adopted by the Grand Lodge, expressive of their determination to suspend the Charter of those Lodges which, in despite of all remonstrances, still refuse to commune with the Grand Lodge of Virginia, agreeably to their constitution and the regulations of the said Grand Lodge; and the Grand Lodge finding themselves at a loss for regular information with respect to all the Lodges under the jurisdiction of the Grand Lodge coming within this description, but on such as have come within their knowledge, they beg leave to offer the following resolution:
Resolved as the opinion of this committee, That such Lodges as do not regularly work, viz: Nos. 5, 8, 9, 12, 16, 21, 28 and 31, be by the Grand Lodge suspended from the authority of working until it is manifested by a regular representative with their arrearages, at which time the Grand Lodge pledge themselves to treat them with that lenity they may deserve, which will be in reinstating them in all their privileges.
1812 Proceedings: A question being made as to the sum which will be received by the Grand Lodge, in discharge of the arrearages due by St. Taminy’s Lodge, No. 5,
Resolved, That on the payment of forty dollars the said Lodge have a renewal of their charter, and that to recommence their
labors Brother Brazure W. Pryor be appointed Master; William Ham, Senior Warden; and John B. Cooper, Junior Warden.
1813 Proceedings: It being stated that after the late invasion of Hampton, by the British troops, it was found that the charter, bible, jewels, &c., of St. Taminy’s Lodge, No. 5, were stolen and carried away; that the jewels had been borrowed from the now dormant Lodge, No. 82, to be returned when the Grand Lodge should require; that the said Lodge, No. 5, had suspended its operations until the pleasure of the Grand Lodge should be known, on motion,
Resolved unanimously, That a renewal of the charter of said Lodge, No. 5, be issued free of expense, in order that said Lodge
may recommence and continue its labours.
