1788 Proceedings: A Dispensation granted this day, the 30th of December, 1788, to Alexander Simpson, Janies Roberts, David May, George Hancock, George Strother, John McKee, Janies Barnet, John Bowyer and others, to hold a regular Lodge of Free Masons at Botetourt county courthouse, by name, title and designation of the Washington Lodge, No. 26, to continue in force till the 28th day of April next ensuing, and no longer.
1789 Proceedings: Ordered, That a Charter do issue to the Washington Lodge, No. 26, to be holden at Botetourt courthouse, and to bear date the 30th day of December last past.
