1799 Proceedings: Whereas a dispensation was issued by the Right Worshipful Deputy Grand Master, on the 17th of October, 5799, for the temporary establishment of a Lodge in the town of Milton, and county of Albemarle, by the name of the Widow Sons’ Lodge, appointing Edward Moore, Master; David Anderson, Senior Warden; and William Clarkson, Junior Warden; and the said dispensation being returned, with an abstract of the proceedings had thereon, accompanied by a petition for a charter,
Resolved, That a charter do issue for the establishment of a Lodge in the town and county aforesaid, by the name and designation of the Widow Sons’ Lodge, No. 60, appointing the same persons officers thereof, that, were appointed in the said dispensation.
1813 Proceedings: A petition was received from Lodge No. 60, praying for liberty to remove said Lodge from Milton to Charlottesville; on which,
Resolved, That the prayer of said petition be considered unreasonable.
1815 Proceedings: On the representation of the representatives of the Milton Lodge, No. 60, that the town of Milton is no longer a convenient place for the working of the said Lodge, as a great majority of the members reside in or near Charlottesville; therefore,
Resolved, That the said Lodge, No. 60, have leave to remove to and to pursue their Masonic workings, in the town of Charlottesville.
